Ingredients for Beet Lover’s Smoothie.

Some mornings we like to have a more vegetable-based smoothie and this one fits the bill.

This super-low calorie recipe (only 72 calories/serving) is also packed with nutrients.

But, trust us, you’ll need to like beets because that is the predominate flavor in this smoothie but it is tempered by all the other ingredients.

The color is amazing – a deep ruby red!

Beet Lover’s Smoothie

Equipment

  • Vitamix

Ingredients

  • 1 cup kale packed
  • 1 cup spinach packed
  • 2 small apples
  • 3 medium carrots
  • 2 small beets
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 3 cups brewed green tea
  • 2 stalks celery

Instructions

  • Brew the green tea and allow it to cool slightly.
  • Add all of the ingredients and blend until smooth. (We used a Vitamix)
  • Serve immediately.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours or frozen for later use.
  • TIP: You can also use any leftovers for a soup or gravy base.
